Artist's Biography

In 1975, green wave started with the slogan "the last rock band before the border" and over the years as a live band, it gained a circle of friends at many events that went far beyond the Saarland borders, right down to the "legendary" Amsterdam Melkweg.

From 1998 they turned increasingly to the recording work in the band's own studio and presented 2000 "the inner garden", LEICO-8548 and 2009 the double CD "... we used to cut the green grass ... / ... the war is over ..." LEICO- 8725.

In 2015 green wave, the last rock band before the border, performed live for the last time at the Altstadtfest Saarbrücken, with the last line-up:

Sven Groß (keyboards, voc.), Daniel Minnerath (guitars), Deddé Schäfer (bass, voc.), Rainer Wahlmann (vox, harp, perc.), Manuel Schwierczek (drums)

until 2017, green wave worked in the green wave studios that Sven Groß has run since 2013 on their last album "stolen dreams in a nearby lost & found".

Everything has its time - including green wave.

2020, after more than 40 years is this CD "stolen dreams in a nearby lost & found" LEICO8837the final farewell.

The lyrics of all 4 green wave CDs are part of Rainer Wahlmann's framework: “… green days on a planet blue…”, which describes 30 years (1985 - 2015) from the life of protagonist Dave: an environmental catastrophe caused by the feasibility delusion of the "gray" - a flow of refugees from north to south similar to a migration - Dave's encounter with his great love Sarah - a time of peaceful coexistence of nature and people in a community in northern Spain - Sarah's death - the expulsion of the "colorful" their "paradise" - Dave as a homeless person under the bridges in Llanes - the re-encounter with his "stolen dreams" in the window of a lost property office - the knowledge that they have lost them - the start of "new dreams"
