Emitting Dinosaurs are wife and husband Nikki and George Lewkowicz and
non-wife and husband Ethan James and Archie Wolfman from Brixton. They were
driven to write Here Comes the Storm after the Extinction Rebellion protests
of 2019. It's a slow, angry, builder of a track - a warning of what's to
come.
"As dinosaurs we've lived through one extinction. It wasn't fun."
Extinction Rebellion believes it is a citizen’s duty to rebel, using
peaceful civil disobedience, when faced with criminal inactivity by their
Government.
Extinction Rebellion’s key demands are:
Government must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological
emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for
change.
Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas
emissions to net zero by 2025.
Government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly
on climate and ecological justice.
Light Emitting Dinosaurs were formed in 2018, Archie brought George from old
band Peter Cat, and Ethan from the rock musical The Quentin Dentin Show
together into a rehearsal room. From the first chord, they all knew that a
new legend of rock history had been written. But it wasn’t enough. For
months, they played as a trio, trying out singers who were good but just not
right. Finally, after some persuasion, Nikki joined a rehearsal. It was the
voice they’d been looking for. The dinosaurs were finally emitting light.
As a quadzilla they aim to increase the oddity in the world by combining the
powers of subby bass, hard guitars and ethereal vocals.
“I can’t remember the last time Radiohead were this much fun.” Listen with
Monger ‘Here Comes the Storm’ is their second single produced with Nick
Howiantz at Brixton Hill Studios and will be released on the 24th of May.
