Following years of practicing bass and touring with bands in Bulgaria, Krassy Halatchev (a.k.a. Icicle) and his brother-like peers from the band The Clouds fled from their native country and landed in Montreal one cold winter day in 1990. The group played in subways and clubs in Montreal and quickly garnered the media attention. They released two full-length albums of 90’s psychedelic pop rock.
In 1996 Krassy joined the band Chiwawa. Produced by Steve Witfield and recorded at The Mission’s studio in Bristol, their first album won the critics. Krassy composed and sang a major part of Chiwawa’s seven albums worth of material.
In 2014 Icicle released his first solo album, “Resurgence”. Multifaceted and very seasoned, this 13-piece oeuvre represents a passage door between the past and the future, a quintessence of lessons learned and dreams that lay ahead.
His second album, “Theorems” (official release date – September 15, 2015) cements Icicle’s musical path where pop, rock and funk elements reminisce of the 80s, 90s and 2000s. It curls upward on a journey of his life’s spiral.
