Second Hand Arms Dealer

Second Hand Arms Dealer are a HUGE new three piece band based in Bristol and South Wales.
Second hand is comprised of:
Sam Schofield - Drums.
Jordan Shortman- Guitar.
Joe Spurrell - Bass and vocals.
Drawing from multiple different influences means the range of music is vast. From Rage Against The Machine to Ben Howard there are no limitations to the sound these three produce. That being said all of their music has a similar feel.
Schofield adds flavour to his drums with counter rhythms which play with and taunt the listener. Shortman juxtaposes heavy and thundering chorus riffs with beautifully crafted verse melodies running through his intricate pedal board to create a sonic wonder. While Spurrell connects the two with sporadic and funky bass lines, while drawing the listener close with his soft voice only to unleash the full power of his blues rock inspired, angst driven, edge of your seat vocals.

MadFish

Just when you thought it was safe to get back into the water...
MadFish! Not a tribute band and with something new to say, MadFish will take you back to 1979, mash you up and spit you out in the present!
MadFish were formed in September 2010 by Colin Wales and Greg Wilson, out of the ashes of the 70's Punk/Mod band The Head. Greg and Colin had just completed two successful reunion tours with The Head in 2008 and 2009, releasing an album of old material 'Still Nothing To Do In A Town Like Leatherhead' and an EP of new material 'Music For Intelligent People...and Morons' on Detour Records. Greg and Colin were joined by bassist Trevor Cornwall and immediately went to work with guitarist Jack Argles on their first recording sessions at Peak Studios in Horley. To add to the unusual dynamics of the group, while the band based themselves in Redhill, Greg now living in Sydney, Australia worked with the rest of the band by email and regular visits to the UK.
MadFish made their stage debut in May 2011, playing a number of low key gigs including the 'infamous' Woodnestock festival. In September 2011 Jack was replaced by the very talented and experienced London based guitarist James Bay, completing the MadFish line up and adding the extra quality the guys had been looking for. 2012 saw MadFish recording a bunch of new songs, working on their first album 'Chocolate Ice Cream' at Dick Crippen's (Ten Pole Tudor, King Kurt) Panther Studios, Reigate.
In 2013, MadFish played live again with gigs in Dorking, Brighton and a return to Woodnestock. Trevor Cornwall decided to leave the band to pursue other interests soon after. 9th November 2013 saw the digital release of the new 6 track MadFish EP 'Introducing… MadFish' on the resurrected Head label Molebeat Records. Available on iTunes. March 24th 2014 - the UK release of the MadFish EP on CD 'Introducing... MadFish' distributed by Detour Records and available through Amazon.
May 12th 2014 'England' MadFish's World Cup song was released on iTunes and with a supporting video on YouTube directed by Dr. Crippen. The song did very well in the controversial World Cup Song Competition.
MadFish's first album 'Chocolate Ice Cream' was released digitally on 23rd June 2014, featuring 10 brand new songs and 6 Dr. Crippen remixes of the EP tracks plus England. The 18 track CD Remaster version featuring Chrissy M, the bands new vocalist / bassist, followed on 3rd November 2014. Released on Detour Records / Paisley Archive. Available from Amazon or direct from Detour Records. This was supported by the video for 'Looking For Another Girl'. Directed by Dr. Crippen.
In November, MadFish also played a couple of what are becoming very rare live gigs, in Dorking and Redhill to support this release. They were joined by Bunny Warren on percussion. MadFish Christmas single 'Stay With Me This Christmas Time' was released on iTunes 1st December 2014. This was supported by a video again directed by the bands producer Dr. Crippen.
The band released their double album '1979 The Story of Billy' on 18th Nov 2016. MadFish have continued releasing singles from this album and have been reworking several of the songs as single versions. On 22 Dec 2017 '1979 Special Edition' was released including updated and remastered tracks. MadFish carry on with the traditions of The Head with a Mod/Punk sound geared to the 21st Century.
