Over The Moon

When you set up home in the foothills of Alberta's Rocky Mountains, it's inevitable there will be a strong sense of place and the rhythms of the land when you start to create music. The couples debut album "Moondancer", mostly written and recorded on the ranch where they live, reflects the pulse of life, living in a territory that is rugged and beautiful.
Their music is a wild ride from 40's western swing and Appalachian old-time, to cowboy blues, all featuring their meant-to-be vocals and the wide array of acoustic instruments they play.
Suzanne Levesque and Craig Bignell are both award winning multiinstrumentalist/vocalist that have spent most of their lives as studio and live performance musicians for other artists. After they discovered that their voices blended together so well that people were often moved to tears upon hearing them sing together, they decided to try their own project.
Simple and sweet, from the title track, "Moondancer" (given to them by their neighbor Ian Tyson) to "Turtle Mountain" which documents the 1903 Crowsnest Pass disaster known as the Frank Slide, all of their material seems to have a common thread that speaks the Canadian west.
Album: Moondancer (2017)
This is our debut album "Moondancer". We wrote most of the songs, produced and recorded it here on the ranch where we live in southwestern Alberta. Most of the songs reflect our lives here and tell stories of this beautiful, yet rugged part of the world.
The title song Moondancer was given to us by our artist/rancher "Ian Tyson". It was great to record at home here, tucked up beside the mountains. A few times the coyotes were howling so loud that I'm sure you can hear them if you listen close enough... I guess this is real organic western/roots music:) We're working on our 2nd album already:)
