Paper City Exile
Paper City Exile is a band from Western Massachusetts.
It's made up of 3 students of music at Pioneer Valley
Performing Arts Charter School. The debut EP was mixed
@Sonelab and is available on all major online media
outlets. The music / style is a take on modern
alternative. The band tries to integrate classic R&B and
punk style influences with a new-age indie twist. Not
trying to recreate anyone else's sound and style, just
trying to make their own. PCE performers are Dan Conway,
Jackson Silverman, and Zeno Doeleman. Dan is the lead
singer/guitarist/keyboardist/lyricist, Jackson plays
drum kit as well as writes for PCE, and Zeno pounds out
the bass line.
He contributes writing work as well.
They have 8 tracks recorded for a new LP expected to be
released this summer.
About the EP: This short album
is a great mix of energetic alternative rock material.
It's easy to listen to and enjoy while steering clear
of the beaten path. It has a wide variety of songs
including everything from "Meant to Say," which is a
mellow jazz infused track with a dramatic vocal line,
deep bass, and heavy drums, to "Still Smiling," which is
a fast paced piece with an interesting groove and
melodic instrumentation. This EP shows great contrast
from beginning to end.
