Pallab sarker - "Morning In Brixton"
Pallab Sarker is a British Bengali acoustic indie music artist from Walthamstow, East London.
A genuine songbird, whose arresting voice and touching melodies swell with emotion and speak to the heart.
Born in Peterborough to immigrant parents escaping the Bangladesh civil war in the 1970s, Pallab showed an early interest in music that did not betray the musical heritage of his motherland.
Arriving in London in his early twenties as Britpop was at its peak, Pallab immediately established indie rock band ICON and as its frontman wowed audiences across the capital’s well trodden
gigging circuit with his powerful voice and hypnotic performances. Kanye King MBE, Founder and CEO of MOBO, said: “these boys are extremely talented and deserve success.”
Pallab may have been singing by night but during the day he was as a press adviser to Ministers in the last Labour Government. And the Maths and Economics graduate didn’t shy away from
bringing his music to work. He once even played a gig with the then Immigration Minister Tony McNulty in the brand new Home Office building – bringing the business of Government to a standstill.
Thousands of civil servants left their desks for half an hour to watch the show in the main atrium - raising thousands of pounds for Children in Need in the process
Now in his late 30s and married with children, Pallab is about to launch ‘Grey Day’ - his first solo album. His sound has matured and is he is perhaps now producing the most significant music of his
