Andrew
Patterson is a Belfast based singer songwriter who writes anthemic yet
intimate songs of hope, peace and love- Folk pop songs that hold a weight of
substance in a tired and washed out world. "Flowing up the same river as
Springsteen and Glen Hansard" (Steve Stockman) The Belfast singer songwriter
has had an extremely busy year since 2018, releasing a stream of singles
culminating in his second EP, “Out Of Babylon” in January 2019.
Recorded at HillHouse Studios in Craigantlet with Phil d’Alton (Master &
Dog), it allowed Andrew to explore a fuller band sound for the first time
exploring musical soundscapes alongside new collaborators including Herb
Magee (Arvo Party), Pete J McCauley (RAMs Pocket Radio) and Michael
McCluskey (Crosshair Kid).
Out of Babylon” further explores thematic ideas of searching for hope-
finding it in a range of places, and even in darkness and difficulty finding
a light to guide the way. Featuring the powerful and anthemic singles
"Miracle" and "A Wee Bit Of Something", alongside the critically acclaimed
single "Alright This Time", a track praised as "a wonderful single that you
should check out" (Alannah Morrow, Gigging NI) and "a fine piece of
storytelling with a pop sensibility, with hints of Glen Hansard, Foy Vance
and Joshua Radin.... from the outset this song just oozes quality" Pop Up
NI.
