Far-reaching
influences of a musical New York childhood weave through Carrington
MacDuffie’s unusual hook-laden songs, and stand out in her new album, Kiss
Make Better. Following 3 EPs since 2014, the 13-song album took shape as she
was gleaning her repertoire with an eye toward material to pitch for film &
TV synchronization. What emerged is a collection of songs that are
atmospheric, brimming with emotionality, full of compelling sonic space, and
songs that rock. She has promoted the new album via a 2-month tour of Europe
and the UK, and is currently booking festivals in the Pacific NW, to be
followed by another UK tour in summer 2019. She is also busy with her career
as a renowned and versatile voice actor, & has narrated biographies of Joni
Mitchell, Pussy Riot, and Jack Kerouac, and video games including World of
Warcraft, in which she plays a shamanic Scottish Dwarf. In life and in art,
Carrington is an adventurer. Whether making music, writing poetry, voicing
works of literature, training on the race track, or savoring the zen-like
concentration of target shooting, she is led by her passion for creativity,
and her endless fascination with exploring both the world outside and her
inner muses.
