Lachlan
X Morris Returns with Vivid New Album:
Illusionaires
The psych-tinged power pop visionary delivers a lush, introspective, and
irresistibly hook-filled fifth LP Newcastle Australia October 2025 —
Prolific songwriter, singer, and guitarist Lachlan Morris—known for his
inventive blend of retro textures and modern edge—returns with his highly
anticipated fifth album, Illusionaires. The record marks a triumphant
reunion with his bandmates in Lachlan X Morris (LXM) after a five-year
hiatus exploring individual creative projects.
Following the critically acclaimed releases Muscle Memory and Ouija Board
Heartbreak Tambourine, Illusionaires cements Lachlan X Morris as one of
Australia’s most compelling contemporary power pop acts. Seamlessly weaving
psych-rock atmospherics, jangly guitars, and bittersweet hooks, the album
captures the tension between nostalgia and modern suburban introspection.
The first single, “Nonchalant,” epitomizes LXM’s signature style—an
explosive, jangleladen power pop anthem built around an infectious chorus
born from the unlikely challenge of turning a tri-syllabic word into a hook.
The song brims with attitude and charm, exploring the aloofness of an
indifferent love interest with both humour and heart.
With Illusionaires, Lachlan X Morris reaffirms the bands knack for crafting
songs that feel timeless yet fresh, drawing in listeners across generations.
The album is an exhilarating journey through shimmering guitar lines,
driving rhythms, and thoughtful lyricism—a sound both nostalgic and
forward-looking.
Illusionaires is NOT available now on streaming platforms but available
through Bandcamp downloads or Vinyl/CD’s
About the Album
Released in November 2025 Illusionaires captures the band’s anachronistic
flair for revival sounds mixed with sharp, suburban
introspection—bittersweet hooks and blown-out power pop production at their
finest.
The first single, “Nonchalant”, began as a playful challenge to work a
tri-syllabic word into a catchy chorus —and evolved into an explosive,
jangle-laden anthem about the eye-rolling indifference of love.
