Artist's Biography
Singer
and guitarist Simon Scardanelli enjoyed chart success in March 1989 with
Anglo-Canadian duo Big Bam Boo, scoring a top 50 hit in the UK, USA & Canada
with "Shooting From My Heart". Since then he's released 5 solo albums,
numerous singles and EPs, composed the music for the award winning "Clean -
the Musical" (Brighton Fringe 2021) & scored the music for several
theatrical productions & short films. He is currently at work on a
Folk-opera which he hopes to launch in 2024, inspired in part by the
folklore & culture of Brittany, France, his home since 2017.
A charismatic and engaging solo performer, Simon's songs are infused with
wry observation – he is able to look back on a long and varied career with
an ironic appreciation of its highs and lows. From tales of life on the
margins of rock and roll in NYC, where he lived and worked as a liquor
runner in the notorious "Save the Robots" club during the 90s, to a love
song written to a favourite guitar, or meetings with vampires and aliens,
his songs are rich in imagery and passion.
“Simon's greatest asset is a fantastic singing voice....his performance on
tracks such as They Dance bear comparison to the likes of Scott Walker.”

Album: Dark Dock Days
Artist's Biography
Dark Dog Days - the lost 2012 album, now remixed & remastered. It's
languished long, unloved and unheard mostly, in a dark corner of the
Internet where Spotify listeners carry ice-picks, lanterns and garlic. A
dank, musty place where music goes to be silenced. No more! With a fresh
coat of sonic paint and new masters boots - it marches on! Originally
released under the DR SCARDO name, now back in Simon Scardanelli's catalogue
where it belongs.
About the Album:
Recorded in a dark and dingy Brighton (UK) basement during 2012, the album
was released after Simon Scardanelli's short lived band DR SCARDO broke up.
Rush released to get it off his mind, the 2012 mix bothered Simon and now,
during lockdown 2020, he has painstakingly re-mixed and remastered this
album of 8 great songs.

Album: The Rock, the Sea, the Rising Tide
Simon Scardanelli is an English singer-songwriter who now lives in Brittany,
France. He released his 5th solo album on September 6th 2019. "The Rock, the
Sea, the Rising Tide."
About the Album
2019
- Folk If 2016’s Make Us Happy was a return to Simon’s folkier roots, "The
Rock, the Sea, the Rising Tide" goes to the soil. Eleven totally acoustic,
guitar finger-picked songs with a sparse balance of additional instruments.
The occasional use of violin, cello, recorders and cumbus, round out each
song perfectly. The title of the album is taken from the chorus of The
Ballad of Jago Trelawney; a story and character based on a real sea battle
that took place in 1793 between the English Nymph & French Cleopatre. Other
songs deal with subjects ranging from a shamed Edwardian lady to a
delusional lunatic asylum inmate’s dreams of freedom, and the album ends
with a touching Ukulele based lament at the climate change disaster that
awaits us if action isn’t taken. Singer and guitarist Simon Scardanelli has
released many creatively successful albums, singles and EPs since his
initial chart success in the late 80’s with the duo Big Bam Boo. Following
the U.S top 40 hit Shooting From My Heart in 1989, Simon moved from London
to New York where he lived, worked and recorded in the underbelly of New
York’s Lower East Side. His moodily challenging album Death Row Tales in
1994 bears testament to that dark and dangerous lifestyle. Since then he has
released 5 albums, 3 EPs and several singles, embracing different aspects
and genres of his musical passion In 2017 Simon relocated to central
Brittany, building a studio in an old farm house and gigging across northern
France. If you like intriguing and experimental songwriting, charismatic
performing and singing that works in some of the areas explored by the likes
of Scott Walker, Vini Reilly, John Martyn, Jacques Brel, David Ackles and
Tim Buckley, you'll be inspired to discover Simon Scardanelli's work.
