Artist's Biography
The
Kings of Strings are an independent rock ‘n roll / blues rock band from
Detroit, Michigan. The band formed in the Summer of 2016 by high school
classmates Luke Porada & Jake St. Pierre and consists of Aaron Weisman
(vocals, rhythm guitar), Jacob St. Pierre (lead guitar, vocals), Luke Porada
(bass) and Noah Wojcik (drums). With sounds and influence from the likes of
Rage Against the Machine, The Raconteurs, Bob Mould, Stevie Ray Vaughan,
Muddy Waters, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and many others.
About the Album
'Memento'
Their second full-length studio album released June 29, 2024, is a time
capsule containing many songs written during the band’s teenage years with
several new songs written to represent the passage of time between the
different eras of the band. Having undergone two lineup changes since the
formation of the band back in 2016, Memento contains songs from each
iteration. Just as the band has done with their self-titled debut album,
this new release is also a self-recorded and self-produced album containing
eleven original songs.
On July 22, 2023, they released the first single for Memento called All the
Way.
Songs like Disapproval, No Time and Lack of Communication highlight some of
the struggles the band had to endure to keep things together during
unforeseen circumstances. Other songs such as By the Wayside with its 1950’s
song style laments over the loss of loved ones that have come and gone.
Songs like Head Hunter with its soft intro kicks in and rocks with its free
flowing groove and guitar riffs while Between the Cushions is the first time
three of the band members each sing a verse on the same song.
The last song on the album Remember, was the first song the guys had ever
written, and the inevitability of aging and missing one's youth. This album
is dedicated to friends and family, both with us and those that we lost
along the way. To you, we leave you our Memento, the time will never be
forgotten.

Artist's Biography
The
Kings of Strings were formed in the Summer of 2016 by high school classmates
Giovanni Rugiero on Vocals, multi-instrumentalist Jacob St. Pierre on
Guitar, Luke Porada on Bass and Ben Bustamante on Drums. Close friend and
the bands second multiinstrumentalist Noah Wojcik would later replace Ben on
the Drums and help to define the bands current sound. Giovanni would later
leave the band to pursue other obligations and be replaced with another
longtime friend and fellow classmate, Aaron Weisman on Vocals and Rhythm
Guitar. The band played many covers from the likes of Led Zeppelin, The
Beatles, The Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, and AC/DC just to name a few. In
2018, the band began to write their own original songs and perform them in
bars and clubs in and around Metro Detroit, Lansing, Chicago and Toledo.
They have been performing both originals and covers ever since. The Kings of
Strings officially published their first original music featuring the
current lineup in September 2022, releasing We Were Young.
