Artist's Biography
The
Kings of Strings (KoS) are an independent American rock ‘n roll and blues
rock band hailing from Detroit, Michigan.
Formed in 2016 by high school classmates Luke Porada, bassist &
multi-instrumentalist Jacob St. Pierre, the bands foundation was built on a
shared love of gritty rock and raw blues influences. As the band evolved,
Noah Wojcik, a close friend and talented multi-instrumentalist, was added on
drums, solidifying the driving rhythms that underpin the band's music today.
Another longtime friend and classmate, Aaron Weisman, joined the group,
bringing his vocal power and rhythm guitar prowess to the mix.
KoS draws from a rich tapestry of influences, blending the dark intensity of
Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Nirvana with the raw energy of Rage
Against the Machine and The Raconteurs. Their sound also pays homage to the
bluesy grit of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Muddy Waters, paired with the
thunderous rock legacy of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. The result is a
unique and electrifying fusion of styles that continues to captivate
audiences. With years of experience and a deep well of creative synergy,
The Kings of Strings have become a force to be reckoned with in the
independent music scene, delivering a sound that is both timeless and
distinctly their own.
The Kings of Strings: Reigning Over Rock, One String at a Time.
The Kings of Strings, a powerhouse four-piece band born in the heart of the
Midwest, is staking their claim as royalty in the rock world. Inspired by
the legendary Queen, the band's name flips the regal coin, embracing "King"
and creating a brand as bold and dynamic as their music. Their logo,
depicting the four Kings of a playing card deck wielding musical instruments
instead of traditional weapons, is as striking as the sound they unleash
onstage.
Founders Jake and Luke, whose left-handed guitar and bass mastery define the
band's edgy core, are joined by a lineup of equally formidable talent.
Together, they've created a signature style that blends raw energy with
technical brilliance.
January 23, 2026, marks the release of their new single, “Dead Man Walking
“. It is a story telling of a man who is on trial for a crime he did not
commit. The song details his helplessness, anger, denial. and eventual
acceptance of his scheduled demise. It is from their third upcoming album in
process.
Their sophomore album, MEMENTO, released June 2024, is a testament to their
evolution. Featuring 11 original tracks like "Head Hunter," "All the Way,"
and "Between the Cushions," the record showcases a band at the peak of their
creative powers. It follows their self-titled debut album, THE KINGS OF
STRINGS (2022), which introduced fans to unforgettable hits such as "No
Shame,” "We Were Young,” “In The Mind”, and "One Hell of a Ride." Both
albums, self-recorded and self-produced, highlight the band's hands-on
approach and uncompromising vision.
Touring extensively, The Kings of Strings have electrified audiences in
cities across Michigan and beyond, from Detroit and Grand Rapids to Chicago.
Their sound resonates in intimate venues, expansive festivals, and
everything in between. The buzz has reached far and wide, earning the band
features in The Observer Eccentric Newspapers, Local Spins, and The Detroit
News, and placing their music on prominent platforms like WRIF Radio in
Detroit, WYCE Radio in Grand Rapids, Michigan's Sonic Coast, and Southern
Michigan's 517 Rocks. Tracks like "No Shame" have won accolades, including
the "Black Panther Award" on Vibe Check with Jason Carr. Their music has
also appeared in commercials for the New York Jets and Hino Truck Company,
amplifying their reach to a national audience.
After performing a six-day residency on the beach outside the Hotel Breakers
Resort at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, the band performed in a mini
weekend tour presented by JC's Kick Ass Rock Show - “Bands Making Waves from
the Great Lakes".
TV viewers caught a glimpse of their magic during their appearance on WDIV
Channel 4's "Live in the D Music Monday", while their live performances have
wowed judges, making them semi-finalists in the Michigan State Fair -
Superstar Competition in 2023.

performed live, in studio, on the NRM Streamcast - 11 Mile Sessions Studio.
Currently, the band is channeling their momentum into a third studio album,
promising to elevate their already unparalleled sound.
The Kings of Strings are not just a band - they're a movement, a celebration
of rock's raw power and the artistry of four musicians who have turned their
passion into an undeniable force.

'Memento'
Their second full-length studio album released June 29, 2024, is a time
capsule containing many songs written during the band’s teenage years with
several new songs written to represent the passage of time between the
different eras of the band. Having undergone two lineup changes since the
formation of the band back in 2016, Memento contains songs from each
iteration. Just as the band has done with their self-titled debut album,
this new release is also a self-recorded and self-produced album containing

song style laments over the loss of loved ones that have come and gone.
Songs like Head Hunter with its soft intro kicks in and rocks with its free

three of the band members each sing a verse on the same song.
The last song on the album Remember, was the first song the guys had ever
written, and the inevitability of aging and missing one's youth. This album
is dedicated to friends and family, both with us and those that we lost
along the way. To you, we leave you our Memento, the time will never be
forgotten.
