Artist's Biography

Wayne Sinclair is a Tropical Americana, Country Americana, Trop-Rock singer/songwriter from Connecticut. He plays primarily on the East Coast from Florida to Maine singing and writing heartfelt songs about travel, back roads, nostalgia, and beaches; songs that are based on real life. Wayne is a sought-after entertainer by restaurants, clubs, corporate parties, marinas, campgrounds, private house parties, and Parrot Head events. He writes songs that celebrate the people, places, and stories of the people he meets along the way. He is at ease as a solo performer around a campfire or small venue stage to playing with large bands at major events.

Wayne Sinclair and The Flat Hammock Band is fronted by Wayne who has been a professional recording and performing artist since the 1970s. He is backed by an equally experienced band of great musicians, some of which he has been working with for over 40 years. It has been said by many that Wayne is the genuine thing! His singles and CDs have an authentic sound that express deep insight into life as well as playfulness in his songwriting. He sings original stories of back road adventures (Half Way There & The Right Track*), beach parties (Parrot Head Playground & Rum and Coppertone*), life’s ups and downs (Lessons of Doc’s Spiced Rum** & Rainy Sunshine State Day), growing up (Livin’ to the Radio* & Windshields and Mirrors*), vacations in the sun (Island Dreams* & South of the Snow), and reality (September 12 Twenty 01 & I Must Ask Why). *Co-written with Alvie King **Co-written with Dave Freeman His live performances are an impressive mix of original and cover songs, and for certain venues on request - all original music.

His recent discography includes his critically acclaimed album release “South of the Snow” (2019) which includes his song “South of the Snow” that was nominated for the 2020 Trop Rock Song of the Year by the TRMA. The CD “Another Quiet Night” (2021) contains many singles including two Trop 40 #1 hits “Rum and Coppertone” and “Livin’ to the Radio”. In November of 2021 a Christmas CD called “No Room at The Inn” and a 13 song CD called “Beaches, Bars, and Backroads” were released. He is currently working on an additional CD project due out in January, 2022. He is a member of the Trop Rock Music Association (TRMA), the Americana Music Association, ASCAP, International Singer Songwriter Association (ISSA), and a variety of other songwriter associations. With the Album: South of the Snow

Wayne Sinclair is a Singer / Songwriter living in Ellenton, Florida. He honed his music skills in Connecticut where his early roots were sewn in the Country music genre. He went on to explore and play Rock, Southern Rock, Light Rock, and New Country Rock. He played in a variety of New England based bands from the 1970s through the mid 1980s. In 1983, He took a 25 year side road to work in Law Enforcement.
Throughout it all, he remained active in songwriting and performing while doing some commercial jingle work. Once he retired from Law Enforcement, he began regularly performing once again, allowing him to finally play publicly many of the songs he had
written over the years. He also found an extension to his old musical roots in the “Trop Rock” or “Tropical Americana” genre. My discography includes “Prepare” (1979), “Full Circle” (2001), “Wayne and Friends” (2006), and his new album release “South of the Snow” (2019). Wayne Sinclair is a singer/songwriter who honed his skills in Connecticut. From the earliest of days when he picked up a guitar to play along with his Dad, Wayne began to experiment with penning word to page and adding melody to create a finished product.
His early roots were sewn in the Country music genre and went on to explore and play Rock, Southern Rock, Light Rock, and New Country Rock.
Wayne played in a variety of New England based bands from the 1970s through the mid 1980s.
In 1983, Wayne took a 25 year side road to work in Law Enforcement.
Throughout it all, Wayne remained active in songwriting and in addition to the secular music, he worked in music ministry which led to writing Christian songs and Mass settings.
Once he retired from Law Enforcement, he began performing once again allowing him to use many of the songs he had written over the years. He now lives in the Tampa Bay Florida area, the “Trop Rock” capital of the world. His music and songwriting encompasses all of the genres noted and now includes Trop Rock. He continues to write new music and perform today.
In addition to being a solo performer, Wayne is also part of the duo “Lei’d Back” with singer / songwriter Dave Burks.
Wayne is a member of the Trop Rock Music Association (TRMA), Tropical Americana Music Association (TAMA), and a variety of other songwriter associations.
