That year saw the release of their first two singles, accompanied by

slot for Goth legends Skeletal Family in 2020. In 2021 the band finally
completed work on their debut album, titled "Dancing On A Volcano". The
album was released in June 2022 to widespread critical acclaim.
About the Album:
Weimar's debut album, released in June 2022, "Dancing On A Volcano" features
a maelstrom of different styles unified by Weimar’s distinctive approach.
Primarily labelled as 'Art Rock', the album’s territory encompasses chanson,
cabaret, prog rock, blues, European folk, freestyle jazz and gothic rock
among other genres.
The album reflects Weimar’s historical namesake – the German Weimar Republic
of the 1920s – in outlook and approach. Taking its name from Weimar
chancellor Gustav Stresemann’s infamous quote regarding the appearance of
prosperity over the threat of collapse, the album places its historical
inspiration against a present-day context, reflecting the chaos and
unpredictability of the 2020s amidst social and economic uncertainty.
The songs explore both socio-political and personal challenges of our
present age. Themes run through the songs of gentrification and cultural
erosion, unsavoury characters masquerading as respectable public figures,
and the grit beneath the glamour of society, the contrast between polished
facades and the decadence within. Through its mix of musical styles and
influences, Dancing On A Volcano gives a delicately brutal and honest
picture of human nature and culture in the context of the 2020s.
