Out Of Reach
Artist's Biography
Based
in the North West of the UK, West Coast Music Club is a band comprising
Martin Adams, Peter Madden, Marc Joy and Iain Morton. Adams (vocals/guitar)
and Madden (guitar/bass/vocals) have played together in various guises for
years but the addition of Joy (multi instrumentalist/ recording guru) and
Morton (drums/vocals) has allowed them to more fully realise the potential
of their song-writing.
About the Album
This, the new album from West Coast Music Club, features 9 new songs of top
tunery…heavily influenced by melodic guitar bands old and new…but with the
WCMC fingerprint.
Drawing comparison to artists as diverse as Teenage Fanclub, the Lemonheads,
Dinosaur Jr, the Posies, REM, Neil Young and the Byrds, this is the follow
up to ‘Faded Scrapbook’
"On Out of Reach northwest English band West Coast Music Club continue to
develop their sonic palette. Things start out strongly jangle with “Sick and
Tired,” a cutting political statement that musically conjures echoes of The
Who’s “The Kids Are Alright” and The Byrds doing “Mr. Tambourine Man.” Then
“Out of Reach” combines transcendent harmony vocals with arpeggiated guitar
work in a style that is so REM. Songs like “The Only One” change things up,
striking a more Jake Bugg kind of sombre intensity. The album also collects
together various singles from the past year, like the ethereal “There She
Goes Again” and the jaunty Lou Reed-ish “Nobody Likes You.” The album turns
more folk near the end with both “Home” and “Turning in Circles” opting for
a more acoustic guitar staging."

Artist's Biography
West
Coast Music Club is a band comprising Martin Adams, Peter Madden, Marc Joy
and Iain Morton - based on The Wirral, about as far west as you can go in
the UK without getting wet….influenced equally by our proximity to Liverpool
and our distance from late 60's California, it is guitar music, in all its
forms, that directs the sound of WCMC in pursuit of the perfect song. We
hope you enjoy the trip.
About the Album
This, the fourth album from West Coast Music Club, features 10 new songs of
top tunery…heavily influenced by melodic guitar bands old and new…but with
the WCMC fingerprint.

A Deep Breath
by West Coast Music Club on 72rpm Records
released Friday Nov
Based in the North West of England, West Coast Music Club is a project led
by Martin Adams and Peter Madden (both ex Eye Dance) and features a fluid line
up of musicians recorded and produced by Marc Joy (Ferndale Productions,
Lights That Change).
The third album from West Coast Music Club sees their love of guitar music
in all forms reflected in their song-writing and, whilst being eclectic is a
challenge in these ʻmust fit t into a pigeon-hole’ days, they’re not afraid
to cross genres in pursuit of their art.....
Drawing comparison to artists as diverse as Teenage Fanclub, the Lemonheads,
Dinosaur Jr, and the Byrds, this is a laudable follow up to ʻGreetings From
Ashton Park, West Kirby’
If this poses the question are West Coast Music Club alt.rock or indie,
power pop or jangle, psychedelic or ...then the answer is probably yes...to
all of the above.... allowing each song to travel down whichever route suits
it best but ensuring the West Coast Music Club sound remains intact. West
Coast Music Club is a collective of musicians and artists brought together
primarily to record the songs of Martin Adams. The love of guitar music is
the key to the songs of WCMC. Influences range from the Byrds to the Jesus
and Mary Chain, Dinosaur Jnr to the Beach Boys and all points in between.
