Artist's Biography
WhiteRoomNightmare
is the sound of a mind pacing in the dark, tracing the outlines of its own
shadows.
Born from late‑night experiments between analog grit and digital
dream‑logic, the project moves like a fevered whisper: industrial edges
softened by cinematic ambience, pulses that feel half‑mechanical,
half‑human.
There’s a sense of isolation baked into the name — a white room that should
feel safe, but instead amplifies every echo. WhiteRoomNightmare leans into
that tension. Their music carries the weight of sleepless hours, the hum of
fluorescent lights, the quiet panic of thoughts that won’t settle.
Yet beneath the unease, there’s clarity. A precision. A deliberate
architecture of sound.
This is an artist who builds emotional landscapes the way others build
machines: piece by piece, wire by wire, until the whole thing breathes.
WhiteRoomNightmare sits comfortably in the borderlands between darkwave,
post‑industrial, and atmospheric electronica — a place where mood is king
and every track feels like a room you step into.
About the Album
“Ad Lunam” plays like a nocturnal pilgrimage — a slow ascent toward the
moon, carrying all the unresolved pieces of the self.
The album is spacious but tense, full of drifting synths, low mechanical
murmurs, and rhythms that feel like a heartbeat trying to steady itself.
It’s an album for listeners who like to disappear into a soundscape:
a lunar walk, a confession in motion, a quiet confrontation with the parts
of the psyche that only speak after midnight.
Perfect for a full‑album immersion on LonelyOakRadio — it invites the
listener to sit still, breathe deeper, and let the dark glow of the music
pull them upward.

Heart Mind Devil Sea
Artist's Biography
WhiteRoomNightmare
is a one-man project created by Paul Anketell, a self-taught musician from
Northern Ireland. He began making music in his late teens when, as a
drummer, he formed a makeshift band with friends doing covers of Green Day,
Nirvana, and other 90s bands. After that fizzled out, he taught himself to
play guitar and took courses in recording and producing music with the aim
of releasing his own material.
In March 2021 WhiteRoomNightmare released debut album The Way Of All Things?
which blog Divide & Conquer described as ‘a cohesive album with a serious
quality to the music’.
Follow-up grunge/punk single Belfast, released in August 2021, received
airplay on numerous global radio stations including German station
MehrdavonRadio where it was voted #28 in the Top 50 newcomers of the year.
June 2022 saw the release of 5-track EP First Impressions Last. The Sounds
Won't Stop blog praised its 'addictive riffs, killer edge and melodic
choruses'. It was preceded by 2 singles with second single Minor Loss Of
Fidelity, in particular, gaining positive press attention.
Christmas ’22 release, the double A-sided Are You Happy Now? / Are You Happy
Now (It’s Winter)? was ‘perfect for a pogo around the Christmas tree’
according to Edwin McFee of The Sunday Life.
March 2023 single What You’re Made Of was hailed by the Metal Asylum for its
hard –hitting ‘riffs flying left, right and centre’
Latest release, the single I’m Sorry It’s You was praised for its sombre
tone and introspective lyrics by Illustrate Magazine.
About the album
Featuring the singles Are You Happy Now?, What You’re Made Of and I’m Sorry
It’s You, Heart Mind Devil Sea comprises of 12 songs containing elements of
rock, punk and metal all tied together loosely by the theme of
‘decision-making’.
The most difficult decisions we have to make frequently boil down to a
choice between ‘what the heart wants’ and ‘what the head says’. The struggle
between those two influences can often make us feel like we’re in an
impossible situation as if caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.
It has been available to stream and download everywhere from Friday 6th
October 2023.

About the song
The song... What You’re Made Of is a pep talk for anyone agonising over
whether or not to follow their dreams. The opening track on
WhiteRoomNightmare’s upcoming second album is a positive, up-tempo rock
statement to ignore the haters and naysayers and do what you love. As granny
used to say ‘never hide your light under a bushel’
