The Samurais - Band Bio - 2023
Hey!
Please find a little bit about The Samurais who are a four-piece indie rock
band from the South Coast of England, UK, based in East Dorset.
Neil Sexton-San (Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar)
Tim Jones-San (Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals)
Rob Russell-San (Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals)
Paul Currah-San (Drums)
Formed in late 2018, The Samurais started out playing covers and originals
gigs in various south coast pubs and bars, and by doing so gained traction
and a growing local reputation, culminating most recently in 2022 by being
invited to headline some local music festivals including the H&W Dorset Beer
Festival in Blandford and Lightening Bolt Festival in Lytchett Matravers.
They also performed at Teddy Rocks Festival 2022 and a sell out performance
at Poole Lighthouse Theatre for “Live and Unheard”.
In January 2023 they were privileged to be short listed for ‘Best Newcomer’
at the inaugural Dorset Original Music Awards (OMA’s).
The band have been busy working on their own original material, and are
currently in the studio recording their debut album.
Their first single “Do What You Feel” was released in March 2022, and their
second single “Silence of the Day” released in August 2022 which was noticed
by BBC Radio DJ Lucy Ambache who played it on her 1 Sunday afternoon show on
BBC Radio Solent along with an interview with Neil. The single was played
worldwide on over 50 other radio stations including in the UK & Europe, USA,
Australia & S. Africa! Their latest third single is called “New Days”
released on Bandcamp on 10th April 2023, and will be released on all other
streaming platforms on 17th April 2023.
The band hope you like their first three singles, and many thanks for taking
the time to read this.
